Important Notes

TikTok & ChatGPT will work by changing APN to “esimnext” this changes the IP to Singapore (Android users: TikTok will only be accessible via web browser – the app will NOT work)
Adding the eSIM outside the coverage country may result in a “failed activation,” which is normal. The eSIM will activate once you reach your destination.
Turn off the eSIM line and do not turn on data roaming until you reach your destination.
Activation required in Hong Kong, you will receive a text message with the KYC link upon arrival, click the link and follow the prompt – passport upload is required

Troubleshooting Guide

eSIM not working? Don’t stress! Follow this guide to get you up and running.

Disable VPN and any secondary SIM/eSIM lines (for dual SIM phones)
Connect to Wi-Fi and disable airplane mode before scanning the eSIM.
Confirm mobile data is sourced from our eSIM (i.e. the correct eSIM profile is selected)
Turn data roaming on (Android: select all network)
Wait up to 10 minutes for activation to occur
APN: mobile.three.com.hk | Username: [blank] Password: [blank] (Android: select manually)
- APN to access TikTok and ChatGPT: esimnext | Username: [blank] Password: [blank] (Android: select manually)
Network operator should be set as automatic, if not working try selecting each available network manually
Restart your phone and/or turn on and off airplane mode

Works well and once connected has good fast coverage. I’d suggest screenshotting the instructions before leaving as we forgot to turn on data roaming on arrival and spent the first couple hours without internet before we figured it out (local wifi has no VPN so you wouldn’t be able to google or WhatsApp the answer either). Also the hongkong ID verification takes about an hour and requires wifi - so you’ll need to connect to either airport or mtr wifi before you can verify passport and then wait another hr before data comes through. Super impressed with the WhatsApp troubleshooting service - quick helpful replies that always sorted out the issue right away. Thank you so much!
