Important Notes

Manual Access Point Names (“vmobile.jp”) entry may be required. If not tech-savvy, choose our Japan eSIM with automatic APN
Scanning the QR code activates your plan and starts the first day
Adding the eSIM outside the coverage country may result in a “failed activation,” which is normal. The eSIM will activate once you reach your destination.

Troubleshooting Guide

eSIM not working? Don’t stress! Follow this guide to get you up and running.

Disable VPN and any secondary SIM/eSIM lines (for dual SIM phones)
Connect to Wi-Fi and disable airplane mode before scanning the eSIM
Confirm mobile data is sourced from our eSIM (i.e. the correct eSIM profile is selected)
Turn data roaming on (Android: select all network)
Wait up to 10 minutes for activation to occur
APN: vmobile.jp | Username: [blank] Password: [blank] (Android: select manually)
Turn off automatic network selection and manually choose from the list below.
Restart your phone and/or turn on and off airplane mode

Seamless

Fabulous, worked everywhere I went, which was Tokyo, Lake Yamanaka, Hakone area 5 golf courses around Mt Fuji. I installed it at home when in great wifi before travelling. As soon as I landed it just started when I made it my primary number. I will use Travelkon again.

Local sim with true unlimited data

I’ve used roaming travel sim from foreign networks before. The major issue is that it seems like Japan Network has QoS prioritised which I sometimes had a lag feeling or unresponsive traffic with it. However, this KDDI local sim is the best, it is true unlimited without speed cap and QoS limitations which ensure that you will have internet wherever you need without any interruptions. This local KDDI sim is even cheaper than many roaming travel sim too. The best and the most recommended!

Easy to use, great price, SIM card worked really well all around Japan, however it would not work in my old Samsung A30 phone, which I didnt realize until I tried it. But it worked great in my A73.

it worked beautifully

I configured the eSIM here in AU before going to Japan, then as soon as we landed, I disabled my AU SIM and enabled the eSIM, it didn't work :) because I forgot to enable "Roaming", once I did that, it worked PERFECTLY
I even bought an additional one during my trip and also worked.
