Troubleshooting Guide

SIM not working? Don’t stress! Follow this guide to get you up and running.

1. Disable VPN and any secondary SIM/eSIM lines (for dual SIM phones)
2. Turn phone off, remove the SIM, insert the SIM back and turn phone on
3. Confirm mobile data is sourced from our SIM (i.e. the correct SIM profile is selected)
4. Turn data roaming on (Android: select all network)
5. Wait up to 10 minutes for activation to occur
6. APN: giffgaff.com | Username: gg | Password: p (Android: select manually)
7. Network operator should be set as automatic
8. Restart your phone and/or turn on and off airplane mode

Validity of the SIM

*This is a Giffgaff UK SIM card, when you activate the SIM outside of the UK (i.e. in Europe) you only get 14 days “Roaming Like At Home” period. If you activate the SIM in the UK and use it there for a few days, you will receive a full 30 days “Roaming Like At Home” period. If you used the SIM in Europe first (example for 14 days), when you travel back to the UK, the “Roaming Like At Home” period will refresh it self after using the SIM in the UK for a few days. In relation to the terms “few days”, Giffgaff mean that you should use your phone/services as normal such as send a few texts, make some calls and use your data in the UK. The more usage in the UK the better as this will ensure the “Roaming Like At Home” (RLAH) feature is reset.
