Things to know

  • Local Unitel Laos eSIM – all voice and text will be in Lao
  • Simply scan of the QR code to add the eSIM to your phone
  • Comes with local Lao number
  • Dial 121 to activate the plan
  • Plan will only “start” when the eSIM connects to the supported network (i.e. you can add the eSIM into your phone in Australia without “starting” the plan)
  • If you add the eSIM in Australia your phone may say “activation failed” or “could not activate” this is normal, the eSIM will activate when you reach Laos.
  • Compatible with unlocked eSIM-compatible mobile phones only – See the table below (no refunds will be provided if your phone is not compatible)
  • eSIM must connect to a supported network and be used within 180 days of purchase to avoid expiration
  • Please make your purchase carefully as no refunds will be provided once the eSIM is sent
  • Please ensure you check the network operator coverage in your intended travel areas, we are not responsible for lack of coverage and do not provide refunds in such cases.

Troubleshooting Guide

Please note that if the eSIM does not work check the following:

  1. You must be connected to Wi-Fi when scanning the eSIM
  2. Turn off any other SIM and any VPN (if applicable), your phone also must also not be on airplane mode
  3. Ensure mobile data is sourced from our SIM and wait at least 10 minutes for activation – refrain from changing any mobile settings 
  4. Dial 121 to activate the plan
  5. APN should be automatic.
  6. Network operator should be automatically selected
  7. Restart your phone (off / on) or turn airplane mode on / off
  8. If you experience drop outs please turn on / off the eSIM line
  9. Please check your mobile network settings to make sure the eSIM was installed (occasionally it may looked like the eSIM did not install successfully however it may already be installed on your phone)
  10. Please do not delete the eSIM, if you accidentally deleted the SIM it may take up to 24 hours for us to reset the eSIM.

eSIM QR code along with the instruction will be sent via email instantly (please check your junk/spam email). Please note if you purchase a physical SIM in the same order, the eSIM will need to be sent manually (i.e. NOT instant), we recommend buying the eSIM separately.
