Important Notes – activation procedure:

  1. Plug in SIM Card
  2. Wait for an SMS from Club SIM
  3. Click the URL provided and follow the prompt and clearly photograph your passport
  4. Alternatively you can also download the “Club SIM App”, scan the QR code on the SIM card and follow the registration process
  5. Note: Insert the SIM card only when are in Hong Kong and register using the Airport/Hotel Wi-Fi – registration outside Hong Kong will not work.

Troubleshooting Guide

SIM not working after registration? Don’t stress! Follow this guide to get you up and running

  1. Disable VPN and any secondary SIM/eSIM lines (for dual SIM phones)
  2. Turn phone off, remove the SIM, insert the SIM back and turn phone on
  3. Confirm mobile data is sourced from our SIM (i.e. the correct SIM profile is selected)
  4. Set APN and network operator as automatic, adjust only if not working
  5. APN: “mobile” | Username: [blank] | Password: [blank] (Android: select manually)
  6. Restart your phone and/or turn on and off airplane mode

Having unlimited internet while in a foreign country was very helpful as I had to download payment apps that my travel agent had not warned me about. I also was able to access the translator app, which I required quite often in China

Setting up and activating the CMHK eSIM was straightforward and hassle-free. It connects to the China Mobile network in China. Initially, I encountered some sluggish connections on both iPhone and Android devices in certain areas, but disabling 5G resolved the issue. 4G speed proved to be more than sufficient. For an 18-day trip with typical usage (excluding YouTube), 10GB of data is recommended.

I have bought eSIM & SIM Cards from Travelkon to use in Europe ( all Schengen countries & UK ) & Asia ( China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand ) flor my wife and myself. I haven’t even once encountered any difficulties, be it connection or the quality of the reception. The last trip ( last November 25 ) I didn’t enough data, so I bought additional eSIM, which delivered in my mailbox spontaneous and straightaway connected. I will buy eSIM ONLY from Travelkon.
