An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital version of a traditional SIM card that is built directly into a smartphone or device. It allows users to activate mobile plans remotely without the need for a physical SIM card.

Check your exact model and country version against the eSIM-compatible device guide. A carrier-locked phone or an unsupported regional variant may not accept a travel eSIM.

How to Scan eSIM QR Code

Find the TravelKon eSIM email for your order and read its installation and activation instructions. If you scan a QR code, display it on a second screen or printed page. On Android, open the eSIM installer in the phone’s settings; Google Lens is not a universal replacement for that installer. Keep the QR code private.

How to use an eSIM QR code on the same phone

On an iPhone running iOS 17.4 or later, Apple supports touching and holding a QR code received in the default email app or browser, then selecting Add eSIM. If that option does not appear, display the code on another device and scan it, or use the manual details supplied by the provider. A screenshot is not itself an installed eSIM.

Some Android installers can read a saved QR image, but the option varies. If your installer has no image-import option, use a second screen or the manual setup method rather than repeatedly opening the code in a general QR reader.

Manual setup when you cannot scan the code

When the plan instructions say it is time to connect, select the travel eSIM for mobile data and enable data roaming on that line if required.
