Troubleshooting Guide

SIM not working? Don’t stress! Follow this guide to get you up and running

  1. Disable VPN and any secondary SIM/eSIM lines (for dual SIM phones)
  2. Turn phone off, remove the SIM, insert the SIM back and turn phone on
  3. Confirm mobile data is sourced from our SIM (i.e. the correct SIM profile is selected)
  4. Turn data roaming on (Android: select all network)
  5. Wait up to 10 minutes for activation to occur
  6. APN: mobile.three.com.hk | Username: [blank]  Password: [blank] (Android: select manually)
  7. Turn off automatic network selection and manually choose from the list below.
  8. Restart your phone and/or turn on and off airplane mode

Having unlimited internet while in a foreign country was very helpful as I had to download payment apps that my travel agent had not warned me about. I also was able to access the translator app, which I required quite often in China

Efficient, on time delivery

Setting up and activating the CMHK eSIM was straightforward and hassle-free. It connects to the China Mobile network in China. Initially, I encountered some sluggish connections on both iPhone and Android devices in certain areas, but disabling 5G resolved the issue. 4G speed proved to be more than sufficient. For an 18-day trip with typical usage (excluding YouTube), 10GB of data is recommended.

I missed the message to verify my ID upon arrival in HK but got everything fixed via WhatsApp. Thanks to your prompt assistance. It would be good to be reminded in advance about the verification procedure in HK which was not required in China and Malaysia.
