Important notes for Japan Docomo eSIM

  • For Android users, manual Access Point Names (a.apn02.net) entry is required. If not tech-savvy, choose our KDDI eSIM with automatic APN
  • Adding the eSIM outside the coverage country may result in a “failed activation,” which is normal. The eSIM will activate once you reach your destination.
  • Haven’t received your eSIM? Check your junk mail or reach out to us
  • Check network coverage in your intended travel areas; Coverage issues are outside our control and we do not offer refunds

Troubleshooting your Japan Docomo eSIM

eSIM not working? Don’t stress! Follow this guide to get you up and running.

  1. Disable VPN and any secondary SIM/eSIM lines (for dual SIM phones)
  2. Connect to Wi-Fi and disable airplane mode before scanning the eSIM
  3. Confirm mobile data is sourced from our eSIM (i.e. the correct eSIM profile is selected)
  4. Wait up to 10 minutes for activation to occur
  5. APN: a.apn02.net | Username: [blank]  Password: [blank] (Android: set up manually)
  6. Network operator should be set as automatic
  7. Restart your phone and/or turn on and off airplane mode

No. Your selected data allowance has no daily limit. Once you use that allowance, unlimited data continues at 200kbps.

Can I share this Japan eSIM’s data with another device?

Yes. Hotspot and tethering are enabled on this plan, so you can share your Japan mobile data with another device.

Does this Japan eSIM include calls and texts?

No. This Japan plan is data-only, with no calls or texts included.

Should I turn this eSIM on before arriving in Japan?

Keep the eSIM line off until you reach Japan. The plan starts when it connects to a supported network and redemption expire within 180 days of purchase. A failed activation message while adding it outside Japan can be normal.

This was our first guided tour experience, and we absolutely loved it. Owen was an outstanding guide, taking care of everything as we travelled from city to city over the 10-day tour. He managed the accommodation seamlessly, provided great recommendations, and made sure everything ran smoothly, allowing us to simply enjoy Japan. Before this trip, I would have been inclined to plan everything myself based on online recommendations. After this experience, I can really see the value of a guided tour when visiting a new country. Having someone with local knowledge made the trip far more enjoyable, efficient, and stress-free. A big thank you to Owen for making our first guided tour such a memorable experience. We wouldn't hesitate to travel with TravelKon again!

Wonderful Customer Service!

Have never used an ESIM before so was vey nervous about it activating! Wow this card is easy as downloaded in minutes ,turned in on the plane when landing and it activated straight away have been using it so far all over Japan with no issues at all !
