Things to know

  • The eSIM’s provider is 3HK (Note: TikTok App will NOT work)
  • Simply scan of the QR code to add the eSIM to your phone (Please DO NOT delete the eSIM as the carrier imposed a $10AUD charge for any QR code reset)
  • No calls or texts included (data-only eSIM)
  • No ID registration needed (registration is required in HK & Taiwan, registration link here)
  • Compatible with unlocked eSIM-compatible mobile phones only – See the table below
  • eSIM plan will activate when you scan the QR code – please DO NOT scan the QR code if you do not want to activate the plan – no refunds will be provided once you scan the QR code
  • eSIM must connect to a supported network and be used within 180 days of purchase to avoid expiration
  • Please make your purchase carefully as no refunds will be provided once the eSIM is sent
  • Please be aware that the SIM card has a validity period of 365 days. 3HK reserves the right to change included countries and data inclusion without prior notice. If a country you planned to visit is no longer included after you’ve used the SIM elsewhere, please note that no refunds will be provided.

Troubleshooting Guide

Our eSIM generally works with no issues, however if you encounter any issues with the eSIM, please check the following:

  1. You must be connected to Wi-Fi when scanning the eSIM
  2. Turn off any other SIM and any VPN (if applicable), your phone also must also not be on airplane mode
  3. Turn data roaming on (Android: select all network)
  4. Ensure mobile data is sourced from our SIM and wait at least 10 minutes for activation – refrain from changing any mobile settings 
  5. APN should be “” (if it is not automatic)
  6. Network operator should be automatically selected
  7. Restart your phone (off / on) or turn airplane mode on / off
  8. If you experience drop outs please turn on / off the eSIM line
  9. Please check your mobile network settings to make sure the eSIM was installed (occasionally it may looked like the eSIM did not install successfully however it may already be installed on your phone)
  10. Please do not delete the eSIM, if you accidentally deleted the SIM there will be a $10 AUD charge imposed by the operator to reset the QR code and may take up to 24 hours.

**Social Media Data is only available to the use of mobile apps (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, LINE & WeChat) The social data is applicable for using Facebook (Including Facebook Messenger & Mobile Web & , Instagram, WhatsApp, LINE & WeChat for local data usage, VoIP voice call, video call, delivery of text and voice messages, images and video clips as well as browse content in word, image or video format except: designated apps download and update, using in-app location based & check in features, playing videos via WeChat Moment & using WeChat wallet, accessing or downloading content from and/or redirection to any other websites or applications within the designated apps and any extra mobile data required by pop up messages. Any other and non-waived mobile data usage will be deducted from the local mobile data. The designated social mobile apps are provided by third party suppliers, the content and the settings of the Social Apps service may change from time to time without any notice. 3HK shall not be responsible for any liability incurred

eSIM QR code along with the instruction will be sent via email instantly (please check your junk/spam email). Please note if you purchase a physical SIM in the same order, the eSIM will need to be sent manually (i.e. NOT instant), we recommend buying the eSIM separately.

  1. eSIM was delivered instantly via email. Using an iPhone to scan the QR code and activate the service was simple and worked first time. You could do this in under 5 min at the airport departure gate, You just need Wi-Fi.

    I consider the adverting of 13GB* deceptive as this includes social media allowances. The only thing I would change about this company / product / service is to advertise the standard data allowance as 8GB. I don’t use social media and if I did using a VPN will render these allowances useless.

    I would use TravelKon again and would rate 5/5 if the products advertised the standard data allowance.

      Thank you for your comment, we did not hide the fact that it includes social media data, if you look at the product page under “what’s included” we disclosed the breakdown. This is why there is an asterisk* after the 13GB. Please note the actual marketing material from 3HK official website is that this is a 13GB eSIM aswell so it is actual the product name. We hope you understand where we are coming from.
